Negril Education Environment Trust has opened another container Library and computer lab at the Sir Clifford Campbell Primary School in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland.

The Opening Ceremony was well attended. There were representatives from the Rotary Club of Negril; Kiwanis Club of Westmoreland Capital;Mayor of Portmore- Mayor Keith Hinds; Mr. Eric Coote -Education Officer from the Ministry of Education among other board members and well wishers.

This  library and computer lab will serve the school community as well as adults alike in Savanna-la-mar and its environs.

The Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning (JFLL) has joined forces with NEET to assist with the education of parents to become literate and computer savvy.

NEET thanks all contributors and well wishers for their support and contribution.

NEET’s next library is scheduled to be opened on April 8, 2009 at Balaclava Primary School in St. Elizabeth.

The Environmental Foundation of Jamaica has recently visited and observed the Friendship Primary School’s Container Library and Computer Lab and was impressed by the involvement of the children in what they were being taught by their Information Technology teacher.

It was later learnt that these students were somewhat troubled students who had difficulty settling down in class but who have now become so involved and attentive since they were introduced to the computer .

This has confirmed that the road to a better society and environment is a good education!
