Community work continues

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C20qgrMXNm0&t=9s Despite what's happening in the world, and perhaps more so now than ever it is important that we continue to help our communities. Over the past two weeks we've been busy giving out free eggs, and chickens in the community. We've given to the Negril police station, St. Anthony's soup kitchen and to families around our community. The eggs and chicken are compliments of Winston Wellington's farm where he continues to grow crops to distribute in these harsh economic times for many families.

JAMAICAN CHILDREN VISIT JAPAN TO REPRESENT WESTMORELAND, JAMAICA

The Westmoreland Municipal Corporation embarked on a Sister Region Twinning Agreement with Tottori Prefecture in Japan, where our Jamaican athletes will be going to train for the 2020 Summer Olympics. This agreement has created a platform of a mutually beneficial friendship between both countries. This will enable the territories to garner information and establish linkage in the areas of Sports, Agriculture and Fisheries, Education, Tourism and Culture. For the past two years, 2017 and 2018, there has been an exchange of Japanese students to Jamaica. This year, Ten (10) students from participating schools in Westmoreland, including our Tablet Program, are being invited by the Tottori Prefectural Government to visit Japan as part of the cultural exchange that has been taking place between both countries.
