Tree Planting Day with Paradise + Vibe “When a tree is planted, new life begins, the birds celebrate and the sky smiles down on its new friend.” Planting a seed of hope. Today, these beautiful women of the Paradise and Vibe travel group showed their support for NEET, by planting coconut trees. Letters of a forever connection to the island will be at the roots of these trees. NEET welcomes visitors to our Resource Center to plant a tree in show of support for the NEET program. This is in keeping with our mission for environmental restoration. Persons can also join the NEET $100 Club. In doing so, a visitor plants a coconut tree and makes an annual donation to the program of USD100, and in return, their name is affixed to that tree and they become lifetime members of the NEET organization. Care Package Giveaway On Saturday, February 27th we gave away 30 care packages to families in our community. Much of the produce is grown locally at our family farm. We also teach our children to plant fruit trees that the community benefits from once they begin to bear fruit. We continue to give care packages out twice per month in the Negril community. Each package included Canned food - mackerel, sardine, tuna, box milk, beans, mixed veg, plantain, bok choy, banana, custard apple, green banana, yam, sweet potato Thank you to all the volunteers that came out last week and thank you as always to donors, supports, and sponsors of NEET! We had a great day and together we are making a real difference.
On Saturday December 19th, we were fortunate to be able to give away 23 care packages to families in need. We followed up with another 21 packages on December 24th. Each care package included flour, rice, sardines, tuna, corn beef, tin mackerel, oil and milk. Due to the ongoing pandemic we staggered the times in which people could come and pick up their care packages. Thanks do continued help from our supporters we aim to continue giving away care packages throughout the duration of the pandemic. Since start of the virus and the lockdowns that followed we've given away over 160 care packages.
